Mumbai: Injury woes hit India ahead of the World Cup as swing bowler Praveen Kumar, who suffered an elbow injury during the South Africa tour, was ruled out of the Indian squad for the mega-event.
According to reports, Kerela speedster S Sreesanth may replace Praveen in the 15-member squad.
Praveen, who underwent treatment at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore, went to England for further treatment but with barely two weeks to go before the World Cup, doctors took a final call on his fitness and ruled him out after the medical check-ups in England.

India can ill-afford to go into the mega event with an injury cloud over one of its squad members as key players Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir have suffered injuries recently while the likes of Zaheer Khan and Ashish Nehra have returned to full fitness.
